Brief Overview
Perfect Commerce, Inc., headquartered in Newport News, VA, a global leader in the development of buyer and supplier software procurement sourcing solutions, streamlining business-to-business e-commerce processes. Their suite of on-demand spend management solutions includes supply management, procure-to-pay and procurement management, to name a few. In addition, the company offers a hosted service that connects buyers and suppliers to facilitate B2B transactions. The company was founded in 2000 and has offices in North America, Europe and Asia.

Challenge
In an effort to improve system performance, manageability and customer satisfaction, Perfect Commerce decided to design and build a completely new infrastructure to support their on-demand B2B e-commerce spend management solutions. A highly available, flexible and scalable infrastructure was critical for the success of this initiative. As a result, computing and networking technologies from Cisco and storage, replication and backup technologies from EMC were selected. Perfect Commerce was already familiar with server virtualization from VMware, yet there was lack of a cost-effective computing platform designed for their custom applications. Perfect Commerce selected Cisco UCS based on its performance, ability to minimize network build-out and reduced time to configure and provision virtual servers.
Guaranteed performance from the leader in enterprise storage, EMC, led Perfect Commerce to implement replicated Celerra NS-480 arrays in the new infrastructure. Coupled with EMC RecoverPoint and Site Recovery Manager from VMware, Perfect Commerce was able to implement the most robust fail-over and recovery solution available.
